The SC21 award is a much valued and sought after credential to place in any companies trophy cabinet. It has been developed by the UK aerospace primes such as Airbus, Spirit, GKN and Bombardier who have invested in and endorsed this ADS initiative. Since it’s inception we have been maintaining a watching brief but until recently been unsure of it’s applicability to a design organisation.
In recent discussions with Dr. Adrian Gundy of the Centre for Competitiveness we have increased our understanding of how the standard can be brought into our business and design processes through the EFQM excellence models. As a result committed to a programme of business assessment to achieve the Bronze standard under Adrian’s guidance. This has gone extremely well and we have made great progress through the process aiming for a summer 2016 assessment and completion.
This is an exciting development for us and, after much hard work we are delighted to announce that we have been successful in achieving our Bronze Award. Peter Hinds, Base co-founder and Director of Business Development was proud to be presented with the award at this years SC21 Presentation Ceremony at the Farnborough Airshow by Stephen Cowan, who is the Vice President of Supply Chain & Fabrications for Bombardier Aerospace, our SC21 sponsor.
